Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Haus Duchess (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and disclose your personal information when you visit hausduchess.com.au, buy from us, use our Gifting Concierge, or communicate with us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Information we collect
Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, order details, account details, and anything you include in messages to us. If you use our Gifting Concierge, we also collect your choices (such as the occasion, pieces and sizes you select) and the email address you provide to save them.
Information collected automatically: device, browser and network information, your IP address, and how you use our site, collected using cookies, pixels and similar technologies.
Information from third parties: our e-commerce platform (Shopify), our payment processors, and service providers who collect information on our behalf. Payment card details are handled by our payment processors and are not stored by us.
2. How we use your information
- To process payments, fulfil orders, arrange shipping, and manage returns and exchanges
- To manage your account and respond to enquiries
- To save your Gifting Concierge selection and email it to you
- To send marketing and promotional communications you have agreed to, and to tailor advertising
- To detect and prevent fraud and keep our site secure
- To improve our site and services, and to meet our legal obligations
3. Marketing and communications
With your consent, we send marketing by email and, if you opt in, by text message, using Klaviyo. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message. If you unsubscribe, we may still send you non-promotional messages about your orders or account. We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
4. Cookies and advertising
We use cookies to power our store with Shopify, remember your preferences and run analytics. For details of the cookies Shopify uses, see shopify.com/legal/cookies. We also use tools such as the Meta pixel to measure and tailor advertising on our site and other websites.
You can remove or reject cookies in your browser settings, though some features may stop working. We recognise the Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of sharing for targeted advertising on that browser or device. You can also visit Your Privacy Choices.
5. Who we disclose information to
- Service providers who help us run the business, such as Shopify, payment processors, Klaviyo, our review and analytics providers, and shipping partners (Australia Post and DHL)
- Advertising and marketing partners, with your consent
- Others where you ask us to, such as the recipient address you enter for a gift
- Authorities or other parties where required by law, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a sale or restructure of our business
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries. By using our services you understand your information may be handled overseas by these providers, which we select with care.
7. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure, and we recommend you do not send sensitive information to us over insecure channels. We keep personal information only as long as we need it to provide our services, meet legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, and then delete or de-identify it.
8. Your rights
You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted where we are able to. You may also withdraw consent to marketing or ask us to limit how we use your information. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within a reasonable time. Contact us using the details below.
9. Children
Our services are not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Complaints
If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal information, please contact us and we will respond promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date.
